UPCOMING RELEASE: Epitimia - Тяготение

Long-time followers of Hypnotic Dirge will remember Epitimia, the Russian post-black metal band we collaborated with in the label’s early years.

Founded in 2008 in Saint Petersburg, Epitimia has released six full-length albums, including Faces of Insanity(2012) and the ambitious double-album (Un)reality (2014) on Hypnotic Dirge. This September, the band returns with the two-track EP Тяготение (Atraction), their first new recording since 2020’s Allusion. Clocking in at under 20 minutes, the release offers a concise introduction to Epitimia’s current sound and serves as a precursor to a full-length album planned for 2027. "Тяготение" will be available on CD and digital formats via Hypnotic Dirge on September 4. With only two tracks, we will not be releasing advance singles nor pre-orders but instead share brief teaser clips leading up to the full release on September 4.

Depressive Black Metal band Dysthymia returns with "The Morning Darkness", the follow-up to their 2021 self-titled debut. 

Jointly released by Hypnotic Dirge (Europe) and Red Nebula (North America), "The Morning Darkness" is available on CD and LP with pre-orders launching for both formats today! The CD is presented in a 6 panel digipack in an edition of 300, while the LP is a limited to 200, divided into two colour variants, 100 in "Fallen Leaves", and 100 in "Woodland Soil"

Contrary to the initial mockup shown when pre-orders were launched, the record itself is not black. Every record was actually pressed in a unique colour, similar to each other but not identical.
